About Christabelle Howie
Finding beauty through resilience, creativity, and faith.
Christabelle Howie is an Indian-born British ceramic artist whose work is rooted in personal transformation. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Christabelle found her deepest inspiration and purpose in the healing art of ceramics — a medium that offered solace, renewal, and a way to express profound gratitude for life.
A Journey from Fashion to Art
Christabelle’s creative path began long before clay entered her life.
Crowned Miss India 1991, she travelled the world as an ambassador for the country at the Miss Universe 1991 at Las Vegas after which she went on to be a brand ambassador for leading global brands, later moving into television as a host for fashion events and international pageants.
Her journey then led her into the advertising world, where she rose to lead major global agencies across India and the Middle East.
This vibrant career came to an unexpected pause when she faced cancer, a life-changing chapter that redirected her towards a more soulful form of expression. After relocating to the United Kingdom, Christabelle returned to the arts — a field in which she held a degree — and soon fell in love with ceramics.
The Art of Renewal
Working with clay became more than a craft; it became healing.
The tactile rhythm of shaping, sculpting, and glazing allowed Christabelle to rediscover peace, joy, and the beauty of life’s simplest moments. Through her work, she channels themes of gratitude, hope, and the power of quiet resilience.
Art Inspired by Nature, Color, and Imperfection
Each piece is thoughtfully created using a blend of wheel-thrown forms and hand-sculpted elements. Influenced by her background in painting, Christabelle’s glazing techniques capture organic color palettes and subtle shifts in tone — a reflection of the landscapes and emotions that inspire her.
Her pieces are humble in form yet rich in emotional resonance. Collectors often describe them as grounding, hopeful, and deeply moving — gentle reminders to appreciate life’s small wonders.
An Invitation to Slow Down
Whether displayed in a home, studio, or gallery, every piece of Christabelle Howie ceramics invites you to embrace imperfection, find beauty in simplicity, and reconnect with the moments that matter most.
With love,
Christabelle Howie
“And now these three things remain: Faith, Hope and Love. But the greatest of these is Love.”
